In order to be successful in this capacity, the Regional Sales Manager needs to be proficient in the following competency areas: * Building the Sales Team - A successful RSM will attract, develop, and retain talented individuals and evaluate key strengths and development needs for the team and providing learning opportunities that enable associates to realize their potential. * Coaching the Sales Team - A successful RSM will diagnose areas for improving salespersons’ techniques and provide timely guidance, instruction, and feedback to help strengthen specific knowledge/skill areas and optimize sales success. * Creating a Service Reputation - A successful RSM will craft and implement service practices that meet customers’ and own organization’s needs and use appropriate interpersonal styles and techniques to resolve difficult customer situations and regain customer confidence. * Making Sales Operations Decisions - A successful RSM will make the day-to-day decisions required to manage the sales function, including deploying resources, allocating costs, and directing sales activities, secure and analyze relevant information to identify key issues, and commit to an action after developing alternatives that take into consideration strategic objectives, resource constraints, and organizational values. * Setting Sales Unit Strategy- A successful RSM will establish a plan to achieve the unit’s sales objectives, taking into consideration overall business and sales goals, market opportunities, past sales results, and available resources and review progress and adjusting the plan as needed. * Sales Negotiation - A successful RSM will effectively explore alternatives and positions to reach mutually beneficial sales agreements that gain customers’ acceptance and commitment. * Building Trusting Relationships - A successful RSM will use appropriate interpersonal styles to establish effective relationships with customers and internal partners and interact with others in a way that promotes openness and trust and gives them confidence in one’s intentions. * Compelling Communication - A successful RSM will clearly and succinctly convey information and ideas to individuals and groups in a variety of situations, and communicate in a focused and compelling way that drives others’ thoughts and actions. * Assignment Management - A successful RSM will effectively control one’s sales assignment by allocating appropriate time to priority goals, requirements, and sales opportunities. * Sales Disposition - A successful RSM will demonstrate the traits, inclinations, and outlooks that characterize successful salespersons, exhibit behavior styles that facilitate adaptation to the demands of the sales role. * Formal Presentation - A successful RSM will present ideas effectively to individuals or groups when given time to prepare and will deliver presentations suited to the characteristics and needs of the audience. * Becoming a Busi ness Advisor - A successful RSM will add customer equity by creating valued business partnerships with customers, proactively identifying business opportunities for the customer, and conveying a firm understanding of the customer’s business and political drivers. Skills our ideal candidate will posses: * 6-8 years of profressive sales experience with at least 2 years in a managerial level position. * Detailed knowldedge of sales and marketing technology * Prior hands-on experience using CRM systems in a sales environment * An action and results-oriented approach which balance a "take charge" attitude with teamwork and collaboration. An ability to work with prospects to develop strong business solution cases coupled with solid closing skills. * Stable history of meeting and exceeding an assigned sales quota * Ability to collaborate across sales channels. * Excel proficiency * Bachelors Degree preferred, High School degree required.
