MECHANICAL ENGINEER
One of our best clients, who is a leading global medical technology company, is in need of a Mechanical Engineer to join their team in South Carolina. The Mechanical Engineer will have a primary focus in the areas of capacity expansion, cost improvement programs and quality/waste improvement. This position reports to the Engineering Supervisor and is responsible for the implementation of process and project support activities.
Responsibilities:
The design and implementation of machine improvements and capital equipment project management activities
Direct personnel in the troubleshooting and maintenance of equipment
Coordinate activities between R&D department and equipment vendors
Handle multiple assignments simultaneously
Identification and implementation of budgeted cost reductions and productivity improvements
Develop a thorough understanding of all equipment he/she is responsible for
Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
Masters degree in Engineering or MBA preferred.
5-7 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment.
Manufacturing experience in the high-speed production of medical devices preferred.
Experience in synchronous and asynchronous assembly platforms, pneumatics assembly and cam-operated equipment.
Lean Manufacturing experience with an emphasis on continuous improvement.
Six Sigma certification (greenbelt or blackbelt) preferred.
